Fairy Park at Anakie, Victoria, Australia, was an inspiration for one of the settings in my novel Star-Scorched Fingertips. Pixie and her matriarchal breeding community are located in the remains of this theme park in 2337. The nearby ‘drowned city’ was inspired by the city of Geelong. I try to get to Fairy Park once every year or so, but now that my children are getting older I, unfortunately,have fewer excuses to visit.
